This website references over 20,000 surnames of British Army officers, which equates to over 125,000 individual entries

As well as the regular regiments (such as the Regiments of Foot), men from other units, regiments and Corps, such as Board of Ordnance (artillery), Staff of the headquarters and the Foreign Corps are included.

An integral, but separate, force was the militia which was usually based in the British Isles and comprises nearly 50,000 names of promoted officers. The vast majority were local Gentlemen and Esquires and many are precisely geographically located.
